The need for establishing a Mar Thoma church in Bangalore North was discussed in 1990 during one joint
session of the executive committees of all the three Mar Thoma parishes in existence at that time period.
The then Diocesan Bishiop His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa was kind enough
to permit the formation of Bangalore north congregation. Consequently a chapel was constructed and
worship services where started. The congregation was raised to parish status on August 1, 1991.
As the Chapel became insufficient, a plan was sanctioned to construct a Church building with a
His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa laid the foundation stone on May 8, 1992.
Thirumeni dedicated the basement upon it's completion for Worship service on May 8, 1993.
The dedication of the present Church building above the basement was solemnised on May 21, 1994
by His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Metropolitan in the presence of
His Grane Rt. Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Suffergan Metropolitan,
His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa,
His Lordship Rt. Rev Thomas Mar Timotheos along with
several Achens and believers of Mar Thoma Parishes in and around Bengaluru.
