A look back at parish life and mission activity during 2025–26 – a year in which our congregation of 229 families continued to grow in worship, fellowship, and outreach.
Parish Highlights
- Episcopal Visit (17 August 2025) – Our Diocesan Bishop visited the parish, presiding over worship and fellowship with the congregation.
- 35th Parish Day & Janapriya Clinic Inauguration (17 August 2025) – The parish celebrated its 35th anniversary, marked by the inauguration of the Janapriya Clinic – a medical outreach collaboration between our Edavaka Mission and Bangalore Baptist Hospital, now running monthly free medical camps on the second Tuesday of each month.
- Family Retreat & Parish Convention (25 October – 16 November 2025) – The Family Retreat, themed “Family: Celebration of Relationship,” was followed by our Parish Convention with Rev. Dr. V.M. Mathew as the keynote speaker.
- Harvest Festival (11 January 2026) – A joyful celebration of God’s provision, raising ₹8,58,670 toward parish and mission work.
- Christmas Season (14–31 December 2025) – The season included our Christmas Carol Service (themed “Weary World Rejoice”), Sabha Dinam, Christmas Day worship, a Kannada-language service in partnership with our Koratagere mission, and a Watch Night Service that drew around 200 participants.
- One-Day Income Collection (2 November 2025) – The congregation came together to raise ₹9,49,610 in a single day in support of parish ministry.
- Suvishesha Nidhi Collection – Our parish raised ₹2,39,846 for the diocesan mission fund, making JMTC Hebbal one of the highest-contributing parishes in the diocese this year.
- Students’ Dedication Service & Environment Day (8 June 2025) – Students were dedicated in prayer for the new academic year, alongside an Environment Day observance.
- Kaisthana Samithi Dedication & Retreat (6 July 2025) – The newly elected parish executive committee was dedicated in a special service and retreat.
Mission & Outreach
- Home for the Homeless Project – Our Edavaka Mission completed construction of a mission house in Sonnanahalli, with a housewarming held on 14 March 2026; over ₹4,10,000 was donated toward the project, alongside a Food Sale on 2 November 2025 that raised ₹2,89,751 for construction and renovation.
- School Kit Distribution (14 June 2025) – The Edavaka Mission distributed school kits to 30 children at Amruthanagar Government LP School.
- Project 3:16 – Our Yuvajana Sakhyam (Youth Fellowship) raised ₹30,000 to support 12 boys at the Sidhalghatta hostel, alongside a mission visit to Bijiwara and a youth camp in Wayanad (“Soldiers of Christ”) attended by 20 youths.
- Hoskote Mission Support – Our Senior Citizens Fellowship raised ₹75,000 toward kidney dialysis support for the Hoskote Mission, presented to the Bishop in January.
- Support to Mission Fields – The parish continued its support of ten mission fields and centres across Karnataka, including Beerasandra, Chikkaballapur, Devanahalli, Hoskote, Jangamakottai, Kolar, and Sivanapura, along with the Mar Thoma Welfare & Educational Society and Karnataka Navajeevana Samithi.
Fellowship & Community Life
- Church Choir – 27 members led worship throughout the year, including a Passion Recital, Choir Sunday, and the Christmas Carol Service, alongside a ₹25,000 educational assistance donation.
- Sevika Sangham – held weekly fasting prayers, area visits to the sick and elderly, and a Sevika Sangha Dinam; members attended the Diocesan Triennial Conference in Coimbatore, with Mrs. Molly Lucose placing third in the group singing category. ₹1,21,000 was disbursed in educational aid.
- Yuvajana Sakhyam – beyond mission trips and camps, youths led a Christmas carol round through 145 homes, raising ₹2,76,134, and ten youths attended the Diocesan Youth Conference “ARISE” in Chennai.
- Sunday School – around 101 children and 14 teachers took part in Vacation Bible School, a Chikkaballapur mission trip, World Sunday School Day, and the Christmas program.
- Senior Citizens Fellowship – 106 members enrolled this year, with monthly Holy Communion services, a health awareness retreat led by Dr. Neena Cherian, and a mission field visit to Sonnanahalli and Chikkaballapur.
